Have you ever heard of "Letterboxing?" This has to be one of the best FREE family fun activities I've seen yet. All that is required is a rubber stamp, ink pad, and pad of paper or some type of notebook.
All over the country these "letterboxes" are hidden. You can find clues at their website and even hide one of your own. The letterbox usually contains a notebook, rubber stamp, and ink pad. When you find the box, you stamp your stamp in that notebook and use the stamp in that box to stamp your notebook! These boxes are often hidden near playgrounds, historic sites, or just places of interest.
You end up visiting some really neat places that you might never even knew existed, AND you end up with a fabulous collection of all sorts of unique stamps! If you've written in your notebook where you found each letterbox and maybe a few sentences about what you saw or did at that location, then you've also got a great journal full of memories for years to come!

How Can You Get Passes for Museums and Attractions at a Very Steep Discount?
Do you have a library card? If not, you might want to look into getting one. Many libraries around the country have some type of a pass program which allows its members to visit local museums and educational attractions for greatly reduced rates and sometimes for free! You may receive a pass that needs to be returned to the museum the next day, or you may actually get paper tickets or coupons. Either is fine, just remember that if it needs to be returned, don't forget to get it back on time, there may be a hefty fine for an overdue pass. Check out your local library today.
